I never said they were UFOs

There were six of them, as I recall
And six of us that starry night
In remoteness of a river canyon
Talking of our rocky flight

In Piper Cub over Diamond Mountain
Resting then in wilderness
There were six of them that starry night
Of tropic breeze and quietness

In bumpy jeep on rocky road
Our destination was a friend
And he could tell you sure as I
That there were surely six of them

His home a small abode of wood
The occasion very pleasure filled
Til six of them appeared that night
In middle of a vaste Brazil

We were friends , the six of us
On hammocked porch just having fun
The six of them came suddenly
Just on the heels of setting sun

Hovering over tropic trees
Not too far and not too close
In silent row the six of them
Stayed their stay before they rose

It seems they knew our presence there
Just dropping in to say hello
Like six old friends they greeted us
In reddened iridescent glow

Hanging there 'gainst starry sky
Sleek like six long submarines
Putting on a puppet show
Giant ships on puppet strings

Repeat performance every night
A local said, the same old thing
We watched the encore then next night
Those six old friends on puppet strings

Six of us on star lit porch
As I said, to see a friend
I never said they were UFOs
I only said there were six of them

Six friends...six lights...all of my friends are a light unto myself. Beautiful and thought provoking.

RS, Thank you sir for your comments.
Actually, they appeared every night for over a year and when they left that site would then slowly pass over a nearby town.

Sy,
No one would believe it
And I knew you wouldn't
For if you didn't see it
Believing it you couldn't
Your answer tells me that
You think that I did not
But I just said that there were six
I didn't say six of what

They were birds, Sy
Six big wingless iridescent glow-in-the-dark birds, stationary for an hour in mid air, then zoomed up and out. I just knew you would't believe it!
Thanks for reading
Love ya

Elizabeth ,
I have much enjoyed all that I have read of your postings . You certainly have a varied
palette you are working from ( I think mine is missing a few colors by comparison ).Wonderful flow and imagery . As with others , if I don't comment much , that's just words , I don't want to wear them out .

I believe you Liz. I was in one of the UFOs. Bet you didn't know that I was an alien.

Seriously though I do believe you.
