In the space between moments

Ok, this was written pretty quickly, I was trying to flood out some bad feelings..writing is a great outlet for emotion, don't you think?

A concrete mask
Concealing her soul
The masterful facade
Of cherished beauty
Painted exquisitely
Perfection, yes...
But horror really
The beauty is not hers
Molded against her will
By those who won't accept
Who she is inside
Once she blossomed
Petals outstretched
Reaching
Yearning for the sun
But now wilting
Crumbling to dust
Maybe never meant to grow
To live
To be truly understood
She hides
Behind the facade
Seething
Hatred boiling
The fuse is lighted
Now nearing it's end
Only a few
Will keep her from the fire
But maybe
The flames must smolder
And slowly die
Before she can move on.

Alwye - This is compelling, no matter why it was written.
Yes, it speaks volumes.
Feel better now?

Yes, this does speak volumes. And yes, I also believe writing is a great outlet for pent up emotions. Great poem, Krista!

It certainly is. And I think this poem is speaking loud and clear. Thanks.

Great poem, Krista, and I have to agree with the others this does speak volumes. Writing definetly is a vent, and you're writing is always moving.. I hope you're feeling better soon (It's a wonderful sunshiney world filled with internet smileys )
