The words were there, yes, all this time All tucked in tight with beat and rhyme Asleep so sound so deep within With covers pulled up to the chin They slumbered there quite undisturbed So peaceful there quite unperturbed What bid them wake I can not say But what a joy to see them play...
Ev'ry single vowel and homonym Ev'ry consonant and synonym Ev'ry single verb and ev'ry noun
How I love to see them tease and clown
And dance about with beat and rhyme I pray they play for a very long time.
Denise this made me think of not being able to write anything, thinking and just not coming up with anything. Then going to bed and just as your dozing off, guess what pops into the ol' head? A poem, now you gotta get up and write it down. This gave me some giggles...thanks!
