The words were there, yes, all this time
All tucked in tight with beat and rhyme
Asleep so sound so deep within
With covers pulled up to the chin
They slumbered there quite undisturbed
So peaceful there quite unperturbed
What bid them wake I can not say
But what a joy to see them play...

Ev'ry single vowel and homonym
Ev'ry consonant and synonym
Ev'ry single verb and ev'ry noun

How I love to see them tease and clown

And dance about with beat and rhyme
I pray they play for a very long time.

Denise
Hey! How about that,I am in tears
You're quite a rhymer, it appears
So quick to post, so quickly seen
Would you like to join our quipping team?

To quip, what fun, I wish I could
But this I wrote one year ago
I'm not as quick as some, you know
I'm turtle slow and dense as wood!

Thanks for asking though!!

Denise this made me think of not being able to write anything, thinking and just not coming up with anything. Then going to bed and just as your dozing off, guess what pops into the ol' head? A poem, now you gotta get up and write it down. This gave me some giggles...thanks!

Denise -

This is delightful.
To not dream, frightful.
What a pleasant scheme,
to find within a dream.

Cute poem. I've done this many times only to wake up and gather thoughts and hurrry to write them down.

Fantastical piece, Denise!

I'd rhyme up a reply, but can't quite seem to do it now.

Thanks, Rebecca, Marge, Eloise & Elizabeth! So glad you all enjoyed it! It was a 'fun' piece I wrote about a year ago, one of my first ones.

And I found it delightful also Denise..

A soul that writes from the heart and shares it, truly gives a gift extraordinaire!

Still enjoyable, Denise!   (hehe-can't get enough of this little rolling smily!)

Set every threadbare sail-
And give her to the god of storms,
The lightning and the gale!

The poetry mood
strikes at whim -
and one has to obey,
even at 4am
when you have to get up
at 7am,
or in the supermarket queue
anywhere, any time
and we are helpless
to refuse

Smile - words are maddening creatures aren't they Denise?!  K

Romantic, sad, longing, comical, devotional.....you've got a lot of people in that body of yours, Denise, and they're all wonderful.

To the world you might be just one person but to one person you might just be the world.

Well that explains the fix I'm in
There's quite a crowd beneath my skin
I feel I'm burstin' at the seams
I even find them in my dreams

Some whine, some cry, some sigh, some shove
Some sweetly sing like a turtle dove
So many voices want their say
I hope they never go away

Thanks Balladeer, you always say the nicest things!
