Field of Buttercups

I'll never find another field
Of buttercups of yellowness
Where I can sit by barn of stone
In shadows of its mellowness

And read my book of poetry
In solitude and pensive mood
Each line is wine meant for the heart
And for the soul a wanted food

A place where field is all my own
Not even sparrow interrupts
No lovelier place I've ever known
Than a field that's laced with buttercups

Snow? Makes me wonder where you're from. Alaska? Most of us can only imagine buttercups this time of year
Glad you liked the poem

How I love the buttercups.
I sit and take my fill.
Watching yet as they fill up,
dancing outside my windowsill.

Elizabeth - You surely made me see
the buttercups splendor.

I personally think that buttercups don't get the appreciation they deserve... Bravo!

Elizabeth, i am from PA, and we are getting a bit of snow tonight, so your poem was so refreshing on a cold night like this.

Nan,
How do you do that???
Did you see "Cassandra's Tea Party"?
You'll have to come up with dancing tea cups.
Thanks for the buttercups
