The Seed Psalm

I am a seed, identic to brothers
in all regards save one, I speak!
If given the choice I'd be like others,
mute, just one of many not given
communion skills designed unique.
Suspect, outcast genera shriven,
a fatal infamy few would seek,
all demurring to feel coerced
one's role to speak. Who'd be the first
to let man understand the mother's
breast of warmest earth, the driven
desire to die as life's rehearsed?
Renew my name and multiply,
the grave defame and death defy.

Converse, that I, to live, will die,
yet those who don't, must rot! We'd save
what is most dear to us, we try,
but life cannot! So speaks one seed
which yearns its time. A welcomed grave
will fruit the future sons I'll feed
with food my case supplies, and pave
the way till from this burgeoned breast
there flows through earth's rebirthing test,
a field of green. Saluting sky,
let grasses grow with welcomed greed,
abundant verdure the seed's behest,
renew my name and multiply,
the grave defame and death defy.

I love the idea of a talking seed - what a unique perspective and brilliant idea for a poem!

Wow. This requires multiple readings - much in it. Excellent.
