Through the eyes of a stranger
one can appear to be whole
or they can look beyond the words
and see a haunted soul

We are what life has made us
and I, like you take pleasure
in the sound of a kitten's meow
or the kindesses we treasure

We each bring a hug and a smile
because of how much we care
the past doesn't matter, you do
the hand's extended to see us through

Sometime soon things will change
and once more we'll smile again
but until that time arrives
make use of this loving chain..

Rainbow -
The eyes of the stranger
look to become a friend.
All that you were or are
is all that I take in.

Loving hand extended,
wanting you to grasp it.
Your friendship I'm longing,
to weave into friendships basket.

Denise: I was so busy concentrating on saying what I felt, I forgot it didn't rhyme and just realised, but who cares, it's the thought that counts, right?.. and I'm glad I make you smile, truly!

Elizabeth: Thank you..

Drat it, Balladeer!!! All my great thoughts went scampering away to the tune of "That's the sound of the men working on the chain gang!" (And if you could hear my singing, you'd be scampering, too! LOL)

Welcome, CJS!!! Your sister is much loved... and deservedly so! *G*

Okay, now... to the poem... (Sorry, RG... it's Deer's fault! *G*) Beautiful job... I especially like the first verse... someone seeing our soul complete with flaws... and loving us anyway! *G*
