The power of perfection
is really quite vain.
To see the beauty
in every day.
To wonder why, and how, and when?
To see your face,
And magically blend.
The ability to see,
is also a trap.
We see what is perfect,
but it never quite lasts.
You expect to find,
your perfect mate.
But because of our perceptions,
there will be no fate.
Nothing is perfect,
but what we choose to see,
so let's just live,
in our fantasies.

Yes, lets just live in our fantasies. I have began to want perfection more than once in my life, and I should know there is no such thing. You express this very well in this poem.

The perfect fantasy is to try to imagine how close to perfect it can get. And then find out that it surpasses your expectations.

Yesterday is history,
tomorrow just a mystery.
And if today is good to me,
it will beat the heck out of day before yesterday!

I'm always trying to find perfection, and only find disappointment in the end. I guess it's time to appreciate the beauty that is there!!!

Tulip,
Perfection though an elusive thing.
Comes to us in the early spring.
Some will see it and some do not.
Its secret lies within the plot.

Tulip like a tulip sings
Perfection of the one that flies
The wondrous dove then falls in love
With others perfect lullabies
