I have come to this quiet place, As my thoughts were unclear. To sort through my mind All the thoughts that I fear. Don't know where I'm going Or where I have been. Not sure of your promises, Where they start or they end. This roller coaster of life Hasn't been very kind. As it rolls up and down And plays with my mind. You say that you love me. Then cruel words are spoken. I gave you my heart, But you sent it back broken. Seems like at this time Our love is not meant to be. So I'll tuck my heart in a bottle And toss it out to the sea. I'll give you some time As I drift far and wide. As these feelings for you Will never subside. One day I just know, You will feel the same way. So remember I'm here And not far away. Back to you, My heart will drift back to shore. And I know you will love me And hurt me no more. |

Severn, Thank you for the welcome. I am really enjoying the reading here at Passions. I must say that a good portion of my poetry is not self experienced. Which is good to say in this case. Thanks for reading. |
