Pen Of The Poet
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

Once the words leave the poet's pen,
we have no control over them.
Creativity was in the making.
Interpretation found,
in the heart that may be breaking.

Of all the words ever written,
this much is for sure ...
Many missed the mark,
while others did endure.

On the tongues of lovers,
our words are oft' repeated,
but, never with the same fervor
in which they were written.

What makes them live on ...
is that they found a heart needing them.
Another heart may use my words
in any way they choose.

We write the words that make
the world sing ...
We have no control over the melody.
And even if they're sung off-key ...
at least they are sung.
---------------------------------------------
*We give the words life ... but they take flight on another's wings. ~Marge~

Marge,
You have been such an inspiration to me.
I'm getting a closer look at you and liking what I see. Your poem is so very true and so well written
I was unable to get to the site you meantioned, and only able to read your poem that appeared on the e-mail.
Keep writing and we'll keep reading

I certainly agree with you. If I have any claim to fame I would want it to be words written by my pen, not any deed or misdeed that I have done. And the words that come from my heart my go into anothers heart any way they need or want them. So you have expressed my sentiment exactly, Thank you!

tomorrow just a mystery.
And if today is good to me,
it will beat the heck out of day before yesterday!

This is so accurately stated, Marge. That's all we can do is throw them out there....puppies in the pound. If someone see them, likes them, thinks they're cuddly, believes that having them will enrich their lives, then they take us home....or, at least, to heart. Who could ask for anything more?

Elizabeth - Thanks for liking this one.
Will send you a link to get to the site I want you to visit. Glad you like what you see ... I think you view me through your heart.

OhMe - So very glad we share this sentiment.

Balladeer - Love those 'pound puppies'.
You are so 'doggone sweet'.
