A Fleeting Moment

A moment passes in the life
Of endless joy and endless strife
The water pours from life's own font
And happens at the edge of want

The moment flies with tropic breeze
And leaves the soul upon its knees
It cuts the air with every breath
Bleeds heart's content until the death

A moment fast, a moment swift
Through heaven's place to always drift
A faceless face, a nameless name
But life would never be the same

Elizabeth,
This poem is like a sip
Of tears upon a lip.
It is beyond the word of sad
Even to a Galahad.
It strips you down in naked tide,
And leaves you of no place hide.
It is a message so true.
And there's nothing you can do.
Exquisite.

Sy,
This poem could be of anything
Of any one, of any place
Sometimes least expecting it
Grief just looks you in the face
For my account the verse above
Refers to that most precious love
It came so fast, and such it went
And left my heart forever bent
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, this is so well done. I love it.

Seymour, I love yours as well.

Ohme,
Seymours answers are always so much more eloquent than the original poems

Lizz,
Your rhyming is magnificent
It flies and flies without decent.
I wonder how you stay awake,
And do you ever take a break?
