The Redhead Down The Lane ...
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

She could shake it with the best of them,
the redhead down the lane.
She brightened up the neighborhood
with just her lively mane.

She was adorned with the crowning touch
that God saved for the best.
She wore just a touch of devilment,
when putting her charms to the test.

Her glorious locks were always
blowing in the wind.
She could turn the head of every man
and every eye took her in.

The neatest thing about her,
was her way of making friends.
She'd bat her eyelashes,
green eyes flashing ...
and everyone's heart she would win.

The redhead down the lane
looked like an angel from Heaven.
The redhead down the lane
has
just
turned
seven.

Chortle chortle chortle! I like this very much Marge. This crreates a perfect image of a child running around with captivating charm.

I just wonder what you think of this line: 'and everyone's heart she would win' as 'everyone's heart she'd win'? It just seems to my ears to flow a little more.

OhMe - So glad to make you smile. Thank you for thinking she's precious. She is the redhead down the lane ... and she is simply adorable.

Hoot - You got that right. She leaves 'em in her wake even now. Thanks for liking.

I've got two good friends who have a daughter. They're both dark haired and dark eyed with olive complextion... their daughter has curly red hair, pail skin and blue eyes. A throw back to several generations of the husbands Scotish blood. She'll be a man killer for sure. Liked this one too.

Thank you, Andrew. I'd prefer to think that the 'creme' rose to the top with that little redhead friend of yours.
Thanks for the read.

This is wonderful, Marge! I second that creme rose to the top, I myself, not being Scottish, but of Celtic descent!! (my siblings and I being the last full blooded Irish in the family)
