Artist's Canvas

Waiting I on easel frame
An artist eye to call my name
An artist vision, soft and clear
To whisper in my canvas ear

An ever calm and gentle stroke
A fire lit, a soul awoke
And sweet imagination fill
My textured skin with fire's thrill

But feel I brush across my chest
Of subtle stokes of loneliness
Of darkened hues and umbered tones
His weary spirit weary drones

Would that his palette full contained
Pastel hues of springtime rain
Colors bright of noon delight
Cover me with pleasures bright

Would then his brush have more finesse
And bristles soft, a soft caress
And kiss the canvas, canvas chest
And soothe the weary sore unrest

Placed I here by artist hand
On easel sit at his command
Should then he not my whole caress
For sit I here in loneliness

Elizabeth - Makes me want to pick up the palette and splash color across the canvas.
Me thinks that your words paint a masterpiece.
Beautiful.

You paint not art
With paint and brush
But in lovely words
Revealed to us

Ruth

Poetic verse, not visual art
That sings the truth of artist's heart
The truth the painted canvas know
Written in the verse below
A rhyme of love, A rhyme of art
The water color artist's heart
For water paint the better love
The feather soft of mourning dove
More delicate and more fragile flush
More difficult the painter's brush
Water color artist's art
Read the verse and learn his heart

Thank you, Ruth

Elizabeth
