Candle's Lovely Glow

In trembling aft of evening hour
Weakness pulls the youthful flower
Who trembles not of evening's cold
But tropic's day hour to behold

On canvased bed with birthing child
And visions torn and visions wild
The spirit asks the truth of it
Why only friend's a candle lit

And what did bring such bitter hour
Just candle's light to soothe the flower
Why not another soul to bear
Why not another soul to care

For worse the solitude and pain
And worse the degradating shame
And worse the nearness door of death
The solitude of child's breath

And worse than fear disguised as cold
The truth unable to be told
The spirit asks then how it so
That life itself rejection know

And how it so a spirit come
To be received by only one
Why not a dozen eyes to know
A spirit new in candle's glow

Within each wick a wicked truth
A sharpenned daggar felt in youth
And visions of the long ago
Still seen in candle's lovely glow

I love the last stanza. How sad and touching. This is definately a keeper.

Elizabeth,
You paint in wonder of a life
That tares my heart to read its strife
It reads as part of a whole and
I'll burn it a candle in my soul.

Sy,
Candles are lovely, though. Aside crystal snowflakes, they're one of my favorite things. Within the well of sorrow lives joy by its side.

Pepper, I thank you for your kind remarks to this and to another poem which I didn't acknowledge so as not to bring again to the front of the forum. And incidently, where is your poetry?

Elizabeth - The Crimson Rose lit by the soft glow of candlelight. This is so typically lovely of what we've come to expect from your heart.

By the candle's soft shed light
There captured in the glow
Is a gentle poet soul
I've priveledge to know
Her name it is Elizabeth
Which means an oath from God
She sheds her light in graceful beams
Where ever she does trod
We at passions have been blessed
With her friendship and her rhyme
Elizabeth, your words in verse
Will stand the test of time

Elizabeth, your words are as beautiful as the spirt who writes them.
Hugs
Ruth

Ruth
Had words you wrote been on a page
The blotted ink would have no age
For tears would then have washed away
The beautious words into the bay
And from the bay the ocean swell
Would carry words and thoughts as well
Into the virgin ocean deep
The passionate poets words to keep
But sun then beating down on wave
Would take the words the poet gave
And heats evaporation rise
Into the endless virgin skies
And sky would hold forever more
The poets words on planet floor
And beaming down in moonlit night
The virgin planets' virgin light
And spelled across the virgin sky
The words that made the poet cry

Wht Dove,

Thank you for all your lovely comments on my poetry, but somehow I feel that I am not the one who's writing, because there's never a forthought to the verse and the poem is written before I can write it, faster than the hand can write or the fingers type. So therefore it comes from somewhere else.
Elizabeth

Tori - and thank you so much for reading
Elizabeth
