Soul to Soul the Lovers Met

Two lovers of the purest love
Of that which sings the gentle dove
Of that which winter breezes blow
Soft icy whispers in the snow

An ocean of a great divide
Attempting storm and furious tide
With churning cresting waves to hide
Her lover on the other side

His soul in its allotted space
In distant and forbidden place
Through visions of the spirit's grace
She looked upon her lover's face

Her timid soul then love confessed
In quiet darkness it undressed
And lay awaiting his caress
His gentle hand upon its flesh

No wicked wind or albatross
Could so create a lover's loss
No sorrow could the beast beget
As soul to soul the lovers met

Impassioned spirits intertwined
And kissed the kiss, and sipped the wine
On purest love the spirits dined
Until the end of timeless time

Elizabeth,
This brought a tear to my eye
and a very very heavy sigh.
I wish I could explain the why.
Exquisite.

Sy,
The why of why is just a sigh
Of moments missed and clouded sky
A poem as this was not conceived
But spun of truth that I believed

Liz,
Spun of truth that you believe
spun of truth that you conceive
So why of why if not a sigh,
Must be something in my eye.

Sy,
I simply don't believe you cry
It must be something in your eye
A grain of sandy beach did fly
And stirred around the watered eye

Liz,
A grain of sand did fly my eye?
True that could make me cry.
But I'd rather the latter vie.

Sy,
Truth has beauty
Truth has grace
When it looks you
In the face
From the truth
You cannot run
Nor can a dishrag
Hide the sun

Elizabeth, this brought tears to my eyes for a more obvious reason.

Ruth,
Sy is the poet's poet
You are the passion of poetry
Hope we meet soon. I'll try to find a shorter route between us and I'll bring Denise along .

This is one of the most gorgeous love poems I've ever read!   And, it doesn't surprise me that a gentle poet like yourself could pull it off so flawlessly!

This is a keeper!

Take care,
Melissa~

I seem to be feeling this tonight.
Lovely, this.

I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement.
