There are bars on the windows
and bars on the door
They told me I would have freedom no more.
I told them about him beating me
And the child that would never be.

I told them how he hurt me that night
And pushed me down the stairs
then picked me up and drug me through
the house by my hair.

My neighbor made the call that night
That sent the sirens and red lights
But by the time they arrived
He had already died
Now he will hurt me no more.
