The Morrow
by ©Richard Budig 1999

O give me tomorrow today
For then I shall know
All the things that only
The morrow can teach . . .
The word I forgot to say
The love I forgot to give
The heart I forgot to pay
The slight I forgot to recall
The time that now I've lost
The tears I might have shed
The hand I never held
The cheek now turned away
The downy kiss of youth
All . . . all have flown away
