Please don't tell me how wrong I am,
I know that better then you.
It was a mistake and I know it,
and I tried to tell my heart too.

To fall in love with someone that's married,
Only brings you heartache and pain.
It keeps you concealed within yourself,
Makes you wonder sometimes if you're sane.

It's carrying all of your burdens alone,
because they can't be at your side.
The guilt is always there with you,
because of the love, that you try to hide.

You tell yourself how foolish you are,
to have become involved this way.
But it seems your heart, has a mind of it's own,
no matter what you do or say.

So please don't tell me what I already know.
Don't judge me and don't put me down.
If you haven't been there, then you can't know.
Of the turmoil in life I have found.

We all have our faults, mistakes we make,
And we try to correct them in someway.
And I fell in love with a married man,
But be assured, I'll pay the piper someday.
