(Please excuse the rhythm and rhyme but I felt the message was more important)

I've kept a secret
for a man
who really
didn't give a damn.
I was ashamed
to say he hurt
my body and soul.
But over time
my esteem began
to grow.
I made new friends
who told me
you are wonderful-
a heart of gold.
Then soon
the God in me
said it's true
you see.
It was then
I began
to believe.
So I told this man
to leave my home
and leave me
alone.
Tomorrow
I
file
for
divorce
against
his
sorry
soul.

Julie, I'm praying for you. Be safe. Great expression in this piece, nothing wrong with it that I can see.

Well my dear friends...mission accomplished.
Thank you all (Pepper, Hoot, RG, RS) for your support. What lies ahead will be easy in comparison. One step at a time...one day at a time.

Julie - A poignant piece of writing.
Your courage is to be applauded ... and I do!
May you find all the inner strength to get where you need to be. God bless you.

Moonshine, Marge, Denise: Thank you all for your support. I know this may sound strange but had it not been for Passions (friends), I don't know if I would have found the strength to do what I needed for myself. I found it in your writing, your friendships to myself and each other. Things I had not seen for a very long time. I am deeply grateful for all of you.

FYI: Things are going smoothly and I begin a new job Tuesday. But I will be popping in at night to see all of you. God Bless You All.

Good luck in your new life and in your new job, Julie! Take one second at a time,(the best way not to be overwhelmed with all the changes, keep close to God in prayer and keep yourself out of harm's way) You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.
I know how tough this road is, but I know you will be fine! Perhaps a trip to visit the grandchildren for a week or so? Keep in touch!

The road ahead is much smoother then the one you left behind my friend. Just be wary of the bumps, they too can hurt. We need to learn never to find another like the one left behind. I too have been there. Enjoy your freedom my friend.

I know little of your situation, but it sounds like you have found the Julie you want to be! Good for you, and the best of luck to you! May your days shine brighter and from within you may your light shine!

llovit: Hugs back to you.

Marilyn: Spending time alone to make sure that I don't repeat this mistake. To me this is one of the more important steps. He was the first to treat me this way and will be the last.

WhtDove: Though you know little of my situation, you have been a big source of support to me through your inspiring poetry and your heartfelt comments.

Seymour: You are one of the nicest men I know and gives me faith that there are still some good men out there.

I am just overwhelmed by all of your support but not surprised. Passions friends are always there for each other.

((((HUGS)))) EVERYONE
