Once upon a modern time,
someone saved this heart of mine,
isn't that how the story goes?
you find a love it grows and grows,
fairytales are full of magic,
they hide the pain, the hurt, the tragic,
they promise you a happy ending,
they never tell of sadness pending,
so when I read that final chapter,
We'll be apart forever after,
maybe it should be left unread,
the awful truth never said,
one day I'll find the rainbows end,
my broken heart will start to mend,
the memory of your missing kiss,
will evaporate like morning mist,
this is one book I can't amend,
I'll love you always,last page,the end.

Very lovely work, Patrick, but so sad...
Still, a very beautiful poem.

Patrick, Lovely poem. And yes, it is sad but I ask you. If we had no knowledge of sorrow, how would we ever know when we were blessed with happiness?

Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more?
