When The Last Hurt ... Quits Hurting
*For WhiteDove

You wound me with your words.
I bleed.
But it pools in tears.
I try to recover.
But, I'm still hurting.

I wait for the day when
the last hurt quits hurting.
For then
I've gone away.

Not gone from life
but from the battlefield of pain.
The last hurt quit hurting
and I'm healing again.
