Delusional Justification

Susie and he had a very normal life:
the children, the house, the strife
He didn't much care for bread or wine,
or saying his prayers before bed at nine
But Susie found a lump,
in that place he calls home
and within a few months
see, he heard that monotone.
Well, the rest of his life
he said their was a reason
that God took his woman
and that life has their seasons.

Well it's a foregone conclusion
that the quickness of the death
will leave them quite delusional
and weeping on the steps.
But me, I see it's bull****
these lies they have to tell
to make it through their lives in comfort.
****, I'd rather burn in hell.

William had the wrong idea,
about his son; his life.
William thought his son was happy:
that no one payed the price.
But one day Billy's son got busted
for pushing junk and crack.
And William prayed to God above
to give his baby back.
But William's son was found in jail,
stuck with a knife in the heart.
And William prayed and told himself
his son's got a brand new start.

Well it's a foregone conclusion
that the quickness of the death
will leave them quite delusional
and weeping on the steps.
But me, I see it's bull****,
these lies they have to tell
to make it through their lives in comfort
****, I'd rather burn in hell.

Len,
This one packs a punch! And we all have a right to our own thoughts and opinions. Very interesting poem.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow just a mystery. And if today is good to me how could I ask for more?
