Behind The Mask ... ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 On your face a smile, for the world to see. I look behind the mask, a wounded bird looks back at me. The cracks beneath the surface allow me to dive to the depths to reach you. To the soul beneath the cool exterior I delve and find... a heart that is breaking behind the mask. You have no need to hide, you can't do it anyway, for to get to the real you, your mask I strip away. Behind the mask, the tender heart, bruised, but not broken. I give you now my strength, my love... it's yours for the taking. Come little bird, I will mend your wings. We will fly together to more beautiful things. Behind the mask, I found your heart ... Lots of wounded birds out there, if we each take time to help them fly ... what a wonderful thing it would be. Sometimes, it's not easy to reach in when others are cowering ... but we must. Oh, Melissa~ Glad to see you dive into the archives for this one ... Honey, I hope you find someone to open their arms to you ... it's also good to be the one who holds others until they can also fly. I know that sometimes it seems as though your turn to fly won't ever come ... but it will, dear ... it will.
