Behind The Mask ...
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

On your face a smile,
for the world to see.
I look behind the mask,
a wounded bird looks back at me.

The cracks beneath
the surface
allow me to dive to
the depths to reach you.

To the soul beneath
the cool exterior
I delve and find...
a heart that is breaking
behind the mask.

You have no need
to hide,
you can't do it anyway,
for to get to the real you,
your mask I strip away.

Behind the mask,
the tender heart,
bruised, but not broken.
I give you now my strength,
my love...
it's yours for the taking.

Come little bird,
I will mend your wings.
We will fly together
to more beautiful things.

Behind the mask,
I found your heart ...
Fly little bird,
fly into mine.

Lots of wounded birds out there, if we each take time to help them fly ... what a wonderful thing it would be. Sometimes, it's not easy to reach in when others are cowering ... but we must.
Thanks Denise, Hoot, Seymour and Severn ... for looking into my heart.

Oh, Marge, this is just beautiful, it is just so full of love and healing. I long for someone to say those words to me, I've been a caged bird for far too long~

Take care,
Melissa~

Oh, Melissa~
Glad to see you dive into the archives for this one ...
Honey, I hope you find someone to open their arms to you ...
it's also good to be the one who holds others
until they can also fly.

I know that sometimes it seems as though your turn to fly
won't ever come ... but it will, dear ... it will.
And I hope I'm here to watch you 'lift-off' !
*Hugs*
