Balladeer, and Ruth and Nan-
And Orderly Decay-
Denise and Martie, Toe and Marge-
I don’t know what to say...
I feel as if I’ve found my niche
Unlike my time at others...
It seems that here, we do appear
To be a band of brothers.
Forgive me for not naming more-
At least for just this time,
For one, I owe you all so much,
And some are hard to rhyme.
As for Decay, what can I say
I search books in the attic-
And none I see will say to me
What rhymes with Systematic..
But jokes aside, and diatribe,
I want to offer thanks,
And also my allegience true
So take that to your banks.
I love the camaradrie here-
And all the flawless art..
I swear to you, my words are true,
They come right from my heart.

Well, lemme tell ya, Mr. Gunslinger
You've become a real humdinger
Quick on the draw and steady, too
Your poetry shoots straight and true.

We're glad you moseyed into town
And hope you plan to stick around.
Just grab a chair and set a spell.
We're dazzled by the tales you tell.

Yep, you're a pistol. There's no doubt.
Yore poetry packs quite a clout.
Our Passionate town has really been
A better place since you rode in.

So welcome to ya, Mr. Gunslinger.
Just keep an agile trigger finger.
Toerag will try your hand in battle.
Don't worry about him. He rides side-saddle!

Now there Mr. Gunslinger,
I've a word or two.
I'm wishing there were more
cowboys just like you.

I really like your stories,
often told in rhyme.
When it comes to shooting straight,
you sure do it fine.

Your words etched upon the pages
never let me down.
I know that you were meant to be
the gunslinger that never left town.

So saddle on up to the bar
I'll buy you a drink ...
You are among friends here,
that's what I think !

Your story tellin's excellent,
Your way with words superb,
Your six gun's really smokin'
Is your real name Wyatt Earp?

But don't listen to that bug man,
The one named Balladeer,
He says that I ride side saddle,
But he mounts them from the "rear!"

GS, I'm glad you feel right at home here.
Your presence and poetry are certainly welcome. Your talent, as well as the others inspire me to improve the quality of my own poetry. Now I ask ya, How could I ask for anything better?

Three cowboys in my life

- the one on the ranch with the cows
the other one in the office, but how
they both impress me with their ability
to wear the spurs of civility.

Now this Gunslinger bandies about
words of wisdom, 'tis no doubt
he ne'er uses his gun 'cept to spin
tales of wonder, and draws us in.

Our continued thanks, 'Slinger, for whatever reason you came, and for all the reasons you stay.

I gotta say Gunslinger
I saw my name up there
and was honored that
I am a part
of all the words we share.

The humor and the pathos
the stories and the rhyme
are all a part of life now
a family that's on-line.

Mr. Gunslinger Sir. Your presence here is a great addition to this little family of ours. I just wish I had the time to read and reply to all of your works. I try to read as many as I can. You are a very talented writer.
