Well, just one more

THE PRAYER

He lies so softly slumbering
In a little child's bed
A baby boy named Kyle
Tiny hands and curly head

The darkness of the room gives way
As daylight slowly creeps
The baby's quiet stirring
Breaks the silence of his sleep

Suspended in the morning shadows
Just above his head
Are prayers and verses from his Grandma
Waiting to be said

May this hour as you awake
Open up your day
With warmth and peace to comfort you
As angels light your way

May the beauty of the morning
And all you see and do
Fill your heart with laughter
As loving Mother cares for you

May the weeks and months to follow
As you learn and grow
Be peaceful ones and happy ones
With those who love you so

May the year to come, my darling
Find you always safe and warm
And may you love the little child
Waiting to be born

May the two of you spend childhood days
Weaving memories
Of the things you wished to happen
In your childhood dreams

May the bond between you flourish
And strengthen as you grow
And live forever in your hearts
Wherever you may go

May your family be contented
And your home be always blessed
With fun and love and laughter
Filling you with happiness

As you grow and change and wander
And you find yourself apart
May all those cherished loved ones
Still remain within your heart

May you grow to be the man
That Grandma envisions in her mind
A man with strength of character
And a heart that's good and kind

And may you some day have a son
A precious jewel of life
And one day find him waking
In the early morning light

And looking down upon his face
In the dim uncertain glow
May you wish for him the blessings
That you were once bestowed

Grandma whispers one more prayer
As she's about to leave
May love abound within your heart
For all eternity

Beautiful, Elizabeth! Being a grandmother myself, I can relate to this very well!
Now hurry back, ya hear?!

Elizabeth, a more beautiful prayer could not be spoken as a blessing for a child.
