If I were some people,
I'd harbor a grudge
Against Fate for making
Me live like a drudge.

Poor Peter Piper.
His life is a wreck
From years picking peppers
Peck after peck.

And the lady who sits
By the shore of the sea
Selling sea shells all day--
How bored she must be.

And Mrs. Pumpkineater
In her pumpkin shell,
Living with a pumpkin's
Nauseating smell.

How about the lady
Who lived in a shoe.
With her children in bed,
She might rest too.

She tried tucking them in
And tying their laces.
But their tongues and their eyes
Were not in their places.

So she cried out for help
From old King Cole,
Who said, "Woman, you're damned.
Look after your sole."

Fantastic! I wish I had the sort of mind that you do to write things like this! Yours ticks along so cleverly! (mine just kinda floats around and stops in to say hello now and then )

You've got great style!

Well, how 'bout Cinderella
who blatantly chased that fellow?
She demurely tossed a shoe
to get a chance to woe.

And Little Miss Muffet
sitting on that tuffet,
Stuffing her face with whey.
The verse could be worse
if it revealed ... just how much she weighed!

And Little Boy Blue
tooting that horn ...
no wonder he fell asleep.
Now he's in the unemployment line
for failing to count his sheep !

Old Mother Goose
is a strange old bird ...
but the stories she keeps
are the best I've heard.

Clever, as usual! Loved it Dom!
