im a good man
i believe i am..
ive hit the high notes
ive beat the band
the only reason
to raise my hand
is to beg for more
of what you have
the drug you are to me
that keeps me wanting
wasting on shelfs
im much better though
shut up your laugh is pelting
on my spine again
but im a good man..
so ill let you in
to sing your spite to me
its dreams like this
that makes me apreciate
your irony..

I read this several times, so let me see if I get it- the man is tryign to convince himself that he is a good man, while thinking about this woman who has him addicted to the pain she gives.....

If so, I can relate to this poem oh too much....it hurts.....If i misinterpreted, I apologize?

Thinking is just what a great many people think they are doing when they are merely rearranging their predjudices.
