Into the Wind
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh to bolt in the wind
slack reins, unafraid
of feeling the breeze in
my hair again
Breathing deep of
the air and then
run…run fast and far
to you, with you
Racing headlong into
tomorrow's morning
Hearts fast beating
thrilled in speed
Regrets are fleeting
No looking back
for what is indeed
behind us is lost
Mariah whispers to
clandestine pain
Run fast, run free
unhand the reins
Come with me…
see destiny's eyes
Captive no more
touch freedom's sky
Into the wind…you and I
LOL
To love a horse is a mighty thing indeed.
I too know the feeling, it's like a drug to ride and be so powerful!
Maybe I'll post my poem sometime soon called
"To Drink The Wind" I wrote it last October after an exhilarating fall ride!
Awesome poem Caroline!
OOOOH, more horsey people...
I know that feeling so well, it's fantasic, and the way you wrote that made it seem like you could take it from a riding point of view, or thinking of a loved one. Great stuff
hmmm...horses? *LOL* I've not been on a horse for more than 20 years now...but once you mentioned it Angel...I could see why you would think it describes the ride! Please do post that poem though...I'd love to read it!
Lilli~~ Thanks! You've got both ideas
very nice Caroline!!! I really enjoyed it... I especially liked "rushing to tomorrow's morning". (I hope I got that right!)
