Boomerangs Of Life ~Marge Tindal~ 1999 A smile is like a boomerang. It leaves your lips when it's tossed to another's face. Then, here it comes right back to find it's starting place. A hug resembles a boomerang. Arms opened, then tightly closing around another. Suddenly, there it is. It came right back to you. Love on a boomerangs toss returns in great measure. Never lost when it finds the hand and the heart of the giver. A lie is like a boomerang ... eventually it turns and beheads the one who tossed it. Unfortunately it reeks havoc with others before it returns to its original place. I've flung boomerangs of a smile. Boomerangs of a hug. Boomerangs of love. They all returned to me. While I've been struck by the boomerang of a lie, I've never had to catch it, for it never left my lips. ------------------ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ noles1@totcon.com |
