I Behold Love ...
~Marge Tindal~ 1999

Though I understand it,
for some it may be very hard,
to understand that I just might love
that old dog out in the yard.

My heart tells me there is something
so special about a friend.
I guess I have to admit,
I'm guilty of loving again.

A child that laughs
from the heart of innocence you see,
grabs my heart in a loving way
and is very special to me.

I've loved an old pair of shoes
that fit me really well,
and mourned the fact that at first,
they really hurt like hell.

I've loved the flowers
out on the lawn.
I've watched them grow
and then they were gone.

I've loved the moon's glow
as it starts it's trek,
across the sky
as I craned my neck.

I've loved the sun that
kissed the day
and returned each morning
in a new array.

I've loved the way you held me,
when the night was going fast.
I've loved the way you breathed my name,
as though it were the last.

I've loved the heritage of my people,
as they returned to me in thought.
I've loved their quest of peace,
even though, battles they fought.

I've known the love of a sweetheart,
caught in the throes of lust.
I've known the love of many
who I have come to trust.

I've loved a husband
for many years,
and others that needed
love through their tears.

I've loved the kiss of a child,
I've loved the kiss of a man.
I've loved the precious babies,
God placed in my hands.

I've loved my children
with the most love I could give.
It's been returned
within this heart to live.

I've loved my sisters,
I've loved my brothers.
I loved my father
and my mother.

I've known the love of my Maker,
and returned the love to Him.
I've thanked Him many times
for the love I have within.

You may tell me what love is to you,
for I have known it so many times.
I love to write of love,
in my little rhymes.

No matter what happens,
you can rest assured,
I'll always have love,
for to it I am lured.

Love makes the world go round.
It's mine to give and receive.
I do it so willingly,
for I truly do believe ...
love is in the heart of the beholder.

I behold love.

Elizabeth ... thank you. Like many, I am a reflection of what I write. So, you do know me, my friend.

Jesus said, "The light of the body is the eye. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light." You obviously have very bright eyes.
