Violets slightly misted
With an angel's sigh
Smeared across emerald lands
Within my imagination
The jewels of my past
Sparkle in azure pools
I gaze upon a vision
Of you, my love
Dancing within the blue
My finger traces
Lingering above your face
Then plunging
Into the cool dews
Your image shimmers
Then fades silently
The crystal droplets
Once held you
Now only hold my sorrow
Bitter tears
Clinging to my memories
As I turn away
Knowing never again
Will I touch you
Only will I chase
The moistened droplets
Of your soul
And forever only know you
As a tiny wave
In my pool of remembrance

Mystic ... this is beautiful. The imagery wrapped in these lines is as clear as the 'pool of remembrance':

'Knowing never again
Will I touch you
Only will I chase
The moistened droplets
Of your soul'

Absolutely beautiful.

If I could write free verse, I would wish for it to be half as good as this.
