Abundant mountains of precious metals,
as cascading rivers of wealth do flow.
Jewels scatter like fallen flower petals,
spinning webs of rainbow hues all aglow.

Weighty statues of gem-encrusted gold,
guard an empire's ransom in riches.
Ingots of platinum cast in perfect mold,
give even cowardly thieves palm itches.

Sculpted statues and more exotic art,
in haphazard piles litter the floor.
Valued for the knowledge they do impart,
spellbooks lay open to strange arcane lore.

Magical weapons against walls do stand,
a vast array of sword, armor, and shield.
Magic items wait for mystic command,
to have their dread purpose at last revealed.

Reptilian shadow cast down on the stones,
the treasure is viewed by this cavern's Lord.
In the center rest adventurers' bones,
whose misfortune lay in this dragon's hoard.
