Somber Amber by ©Richard Budig 1999 Comes the new season When trees play fall jazz Skipping bright notes Before the rattling breeze Brassy yellows ride high While red and cinnamon Add rumble and rhythm But it’s the note of amber The color of solemn gold That brings to my heart Dark memories best left To coming winter snows |
