Give me chaos

in the sweat and strain
of a futile exercise
well outside the straight here-to-there
and back again logic
that weighs nothing
yet costs everything

I want to slide across jagged rocks
with my belly scrapping down a mountain
completely immersed in friction without drama
and splashes of color that don't exist
outside of imagination's box of crayons

and once that is over
I'll drag up that old piano
wrapped in rough chains
so rusted over that its grains
equate to normalcy

give me pain's analogue
not sugar coated in opposites
like happiness or joy
limited to temporal ecstasy
rationed out in war time

leave it prolonged at aching feet
and creaking shoulders too weary
to collect the unspoken benefits
but graced with a child's overwhelming willingness
to be soothed by the thought alone

this stone keeps weighing me down
seized from the jaws of uncertainty
but the most certain thing of all
is that to throw it cedes my victory.

Nobody ever finally loses their soul- they only piss away 99/100's of it.

Nicely  done, Edgewise but it's in the wrong forum. The Open forum will give it more exposure. This forum is for lessons handed out and worked on.
