First, here is the original:

Little lamb, who made thee?
Does thou know who made thee,
Gave thee life, and bid thee feed
By the stream and o'er the mead;
Gave thee clothing of delight,
Softest clothing, woolly, bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice?
Little lamb, who made thee?
Does thou know who made thee?

Little lamb, I'll tell thee;
Little lamb, I'll tell thee:
He is called by thy name,
For He calls Himself a Lamb.
He is meek, and He is mild,
He became a little child.
I a child, and thou a lamb,
We are called by His name.
Little lamb, God bless thee!
Little lamb, God bless thee!

here is mine, i tried to remember myself as the terrified kid...

Mummy, keep your eyes closed,
Tell me they are quite closed!
You must first smell the sugar,
"many fingers?" "just surer!"
wrapped in cinnamom, melted
butter, the candles melded,
breathe in, you know i love you?
its sketchy, this arty chew...
Mother, keep your eyes closed,
Tell me they are quite closed!

Its a mess, that's exposed...
Its a mess: that's exposed!
A peek i'll grant, just maybe...
as long as inside, i see
no fallen regrets or sighs
covered by a clever guise.
You swoon, I misunderstand,
"I love you, terribly grand..."
Its a mess, i supposed...
Its a mess: I supposed!

----
still finding it hard to be "me" within a structure, this feels still rather gauche, still, i suppose with practise it gets easier...thank you for forcing me on

"more than yesterday, less than tomorrow, i love you"
