Envisioned deep within the night
on wings of fancy taken flight
from comfort of a warm soft bed
in hopes of gaining true insight

sojourn into where streams are fed
the crystal springs of watersheds
which cascade through this land of dreams
along the trails where spirits tred

as if to speak with them it seems
immersed in such a world where gleam
the paths that poets' souls may take
and wonder truly reigns supreme

to dream not just for dreamings sake
yet of those visions to partake
with hopes to forge upon awake
a poem as one that "Frost" might make

I would like to be able to forge a poem such as YOU would make.
Very well done -again your form is perfect and what a beautiful song it makes.
THank you, Sir Moose

Kevin,
Thanks. I about wore out my pen on rewriting this one, trying to get it just right.
Sometimes it amazes me how difficult it can be to make something sound so simple.

Ok Doc, you gotta slow down. You're making the rest of us look kinda bad here, ya know.

BTW this was certainly a "good use of your pen." But that is how we did things "before the turn of the century." These days, we use the computer and some word processing program of choice for all that rewriting. That way, you don't harm any trees or polute the landfills with all those used-up pens carcasses It's true that you may inconvenience a few electrons in the process but they'll get over it, trust me on this

Pete

After a night with just four hours of sleep - because I was hanging out at a native American casino nearby... "along the trails where spirits tred..." - I have a real appreciation for this poem this morning.  Excellent form and theme as usual, Doc...

Pete,
Thanks. I took your advice and went fishing for a few days. Pure poetry on the water.
Doc
Denise,
A "Frostian" poem does not a sonnet make,
but, I'm glad you liked.
Doc
Nan,
Thanks. Would that be Foxwoods or Mohegan?
Not that I'm being nosy, just that I have been known to frequent both. BTW, Thanks!
Doc
