In far away Bewilderment, which few have ever seen,
conducting an experiment, said Doc, "Wouldn't it be keen,
this year if for Saint Patricks' Day instead of wearing green
we all dressed up in blue, let's say, if you know what I mean."

Well, Doc discussed his crazy plan with his ol' buddy "Drew",
The "Crayon King" of the Institute, who said, "Doc, get a clue,
you can't just pick a different color for Saint Patricks' Day !"
But, Doc was one bull-headed moose, and did, needless to say.

So, Doc went to his workshop with his crazy master plan.
He worked for days and nights non-stop, perfecting a spray can,
which once was filled up to the top with yellow #2,
would counteract the color scheme and turn green back to blue!

Meanwhile, upon the Isle of green, unknown to Doctor Moose.
The Leprechauns were not too keen on taking such abuse.
"This Doctor is a madman," said the leaders of the clans,
"he's messin' with tradition, boys, let's stop him while we can!"

And, so the wee folk sent their best to deal with Dr. Moose.
They vowed that they would never rest 'til they had cooked his goose!
They snuck into his workshop in the dead of night, unseen,
and switched the doctors' spray paint with a can of emerald green.

St. Paddys' Day, when ol' Doc went to paint the whole town blue,
surprise, the spray he did invent blew back on you know who!
So, to this day if you should visit Docs' Bewilderment,
You'll see the message, Leprechauns, to Doctor Moose had sent.

At first it might appear that Doc just likes to wear green hats,
look closer, and you'll see the wee folk painted him like that!
A lesson learned the hard way, 'bout the Irish and their luck.
" Don't mess with our Saint Paddys' Day, there, Doctor Moose, ya schmuck!"

muted,
Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. The serious side of me often goes on vacation.
(Some guys have all the luck!)
Doc
Endlessecho,
Thanks. You know, it's kinda funny. When I first came here, I was all about proving something. Proving I could write, proving I could compete with most anyone else, the whole "one-up-manship" thing. Now, to be honest, I really couldn't care less about any
of that. I'm content to keep learning, and, I've found that since there are very few who would take me to task, I have a lot more fun
belittling myself ("schmuck" that I am). If I have to bully anybody, it might just as well be me. I know just where to put the knife, and when it cuts (hopefully) it only bleeds more poetry. Thanks for allowing me to ramble.

LOL...I've only read this about half a dozen times, Doc...and each time I go to respond, I get interrupted.  Got to do something about that interruption....

I love it....

but then you knew I would!
