The day in tatters, torn, lays at my feet. What once had brimmed with promise met despair. The depth of this morass, the more complete, as rise the tide of pages that I tear. In shreds, my one salvation mocks my plight, a fleet of fragments that have run aground. As detritus of daylight fades to night, knee deep, the litter of my work surrounds. An island I've become, awash, it seems, as castaways now clutter up this floor. The residue of countless broken dreams, abandoned, while sets sail from distant shore. A ship whose cargo slips just out of sight, of this, a futile day spent trying to write. |

Doc~ There is such beauty in this~ I'm kinda hoping to go to Open and find it posted there ???????? This is REALLY, REALLY excellent~ And thank you for 'detritus' ... oh my ! (You didtreatus to a new word for my poetic remember ....~) I was 'thinking' remnants ... but enjoyed finding your 'debris'~  LOL ... my wastepaper basket used to overflow with it ... now I just backspace !  *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
