May I come back to class, Nan, pretty please?
Eventually, I just might learn something.
Red roses or an apple, maybe two?
Rock, paper, scissors, best two out of three?

You know me well enough by now, I guess.
Could there still be some room for a class clown?
Hope springs eternal, so at least they say.
Right down there on the left, I wish you all.

Instead of spending money on a card.
Some might think me a cheap-skate but, so what?
That doesn't really make me a bad guy.
My New years' resolution I have made

And that's to try to get to class on time.
So how about it "Teach", what do you say?

Doc Moose, you're welcome back to class, of course
I see you're writing blank verse without rhyme
To you and yours a Happy Holiday

A poet that I'm not, but passing through.
Don't know if I can make some stuff like yours.
So, who's the teacher here pray tell me please?
Is there a seat around the house for me?

(Aside)This iambic thing I've never done before, but can I try?

jjote - For someone who's not specifically worked with meter, you have an obvious knack for it.  I'm looking forward to having you around...

OH - You might consider sitting somewhere other than in front of Doc Moose - He pulls pigtails...

Hi, Nan. I see you've read my iambic at the other forum, and have allowed me to sit in.
(I did that thru the back door?? hehe?)

Thanks, but Doc Moose will be disappointed. I wear my haircut close to the crop.

jjote,
Welcome to class. I see you've already met "Teach". She really is an excellent teacher( although I don't recall telling any "pig-tales", much less pulling them ).
As she said, your use of meter on this was great. Sit anywhere you want.
Doc
