Christmas Thoughts

My mind has wandered back to Christmas past
To childhood winters on the Kansas plains,
To playing fox and geese in frozen snow,
And finding warmth and love in Christmas cheer.

The Christmas season breaks the wintry chill,
And fills the heart with love, the spirit, hope.
The bleakest time of year, suffused with joy,
The Christian world receives the Prince of Peace.

For those of other faith or worldly bent,
The jolly Santa Claus of Northern Pole
Imbues the stores and malls with festive life
And generates a generous esprit.

So Christmas brings the happiest of thoughts
Reminding me of family and friends.
My heart is filled with overwhelming love.
The energy of Christmas gives new life.

The Holidays are special for us all
With Yuletide cheer and Auld Lang Syne in sync
How could we not embrace with loving arms
When Passions love encircles us as one

Happy holidays.
If Christmas has not just past, I'd have loved to "copy" your poem into a Christmas card.
