What's in store for this November?
Something that we'll all remember...
something classic? or just for fun?
What's for November, oh Nan-o-One?

Here's an oldie but goodie...

I didn't do a specific syllable count here, but the rhyme scheme should work...

Symbiosis

OMG, I might actually have to WORK at writing a poem this way. LOL, I haven't had a good challenge in a long time.

Off your duff, says the prof,
dip quill in ink
and think!

LOL, thanks for the challenging idea.

Before I jump into this without looking, what is the difference between "Terza Rima" and "Villanelles".

Please!

If I may?

Villanelles have repeating lines, Terza Rima does not.  That is the obvious difference.  There are more, I know.

I would like to sign up for this workshop, if I need permission to post in this Forum, please allow me to have it.

Thank you.

How do I sign up for the workshop?
Can you believe I've been at Pips for over a year and never came into this forum? Way overdue. Now what do I have to do to join and post here?

Moonlight Romeo, Midnite Sun...
Nan will be back quick on the run,
to let you two come enter here...
and then you too can hear...

the Helps! that we so often air
and helping hands so quickly pair
an answer to the questions asked
seems an easy, wholesome task

but 'tis not, as you shall guess
when our Nan gets down to BusiNess...

All right, it's done already, Sunny one,
I've just approved these members' quests anew.
You'll be all set to post now Midnight Sun,

And Moonlight Romeo I got you too,
So we'll be looking forward to your verse.
You'll both have fun - we'll all make sure you do...

No matter how longspun or simply terse
We love to see our night-folk join our throng
With newfound rhyme about which we'll converse

So join the group and bring your quills along,
You'll fit right in, of this I have no doubt.
The playground, though, is not where we belong.

So pay no heed when Margie lures you out.
She's always out there having lots of fun,
She thinks that recess is what it's about!

Teach Nan, Marge kept me playing in the sandbox, so I got all dirty and had to wash up first before coming to class!

Don't have apples anymore, will some walnuts do too?????

Terza rima ok, got sore feet from dancing the tanka anyway. Terza rima it will be, three rhymes huh.....I think I can manage that....I think...think...think...

Sunshine, don't mind teach Nanniness, she's suppost to make things look easy, so we will go for it and then she sits back and giggles, because she knows we will be sweating.

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Ok, what I want to know is...who can I pay to help me with this!  Let's see, I bake a mean and lean cinnamon roll...[it just tastes fattening...] and hmmm, Thanksgiving is coming up....I am sure to get a squawk from Nan if I don't come up with something soon...of course Nan has the corner on the cranberry market....

[Karilea stumbles off to bed grumbling about nightmares after eating Terza Rima...]

I'm in for this session.  I've been having computer problems and missing out on some of the fun.

Titia, I'm so glad that you stick with this class.  You were here when I joined and I always look for you.  I'm hoping to post more when I get my computer fixed.

Miss Nan, this looks like a tough assignment but I will dig in and see what I can do. Thanks for the example.  Do you have anymore instructions?

Miss Sunshine, it looks as though you got us in pretty deep this time.  It also looks like fun.  Write something that will make Dante proud.

I'm so glad to see the class growing and am looking forward to the first posting.  It won't be me.

Miss Marge, you make this class fun and have posted great poetry.  I'm always so glad when you come in from the merry-go-round.

So who goes first?

Shenachie

Dear Class,
Where to begin ( but the beginning ?).
A new start and challenge to meet. My tanka ran empty, lacking for fuel, and I was left looking quite like the fool. Can I play again?

The idea perhaps, the wording though, can never be changed sufficiently to incorporate the same idea.
Sometimes you gotta know when to hold em,
and sometimes ya just gotta know when to fold em.

It don't mean defeat, it just means........
if at first you don't succeed........
try try again....
and keep trying.
