Might we free-verse it one more month?
Some of us are getting umph!
As into the dialog
of daily men,
we roam about to find
some zen,
away from rhyme, except
within
may we take free verse
for one more spin?

Hello dear friends. I just stopped by here today and found out that you are extending your free verse challenge. I'm not one for free verse myself, as I'm never sure if it's good enough or not. I wasn't going to post in here, but it's one of those nights when I'm in a self-pitying mood and cannot sleep. I came out here to cry in quiet so as not to disturb other member of my household, and found myself thinking about this free verse thing...so I got out pen and paper, wiped away my tears, and wrote one new and one not so new, but newly refined. If you have the time or feel inclined to indulge my moody state, please read my following 2 posts, Fish  Out Of Water, and Pen and Paper Therapy. I'm not putting them in Open Poetry as I feel too vulnerable right now and see that not many of the members usually post in here.Sometimes it better to stand quietly in a corner than blare your misery out the open window. Thanks for understanding.

Sorry. I didn't realize I couldn't post a new topic in here. I'm taking a VERY deep breath and posting in Open Poetry..hopeing I don't get laughed out of "town" so to speak. Sorry again if I stuck my nose somewhere it doesn't belong. No offense meant. Thanks.

Hand waving wildly in the back of the classroom!

I'm with Sunshine!

Another month of free verse, purty please!

Sorry Balladeer.  Just happen to like the stuff!

Hey Teach,

I am really swamped at work this month and I am a slow writer anyway, particularly when it comes to free verse. I do have another old one that I would sure appreciate some help on. I wonder if I can just post that instead of writing a new one?

Pete, the humble student

I'd say thanks, Nan, if my mouth weren't full of bubbles....soap bubbles, that is...
thank goodness it's not Lava....that's the yuckiest stuff....if one has to have their mouth washed out with soap, it's best to get some of that flavorful stuff.  The lye is still there, of course, but diluted somewhat....

free verse rules!

Dear Teach,
Personally, I think the class has all gone bonkers. Two consecutive months of "Free Verse?" , the mind just boggles! What has happened to rhyme and reason? Balladeer! Say it isn't so! Give us structure, or give us death! Are we to be left at the mercy of these lunatics? ARGHHHHH!
P.S., No offense folks, but I feel as if I have been cast loose from my moorings with no horizon in sight!

I vote for another month of free-verse, Nan...
I have only recently discovered that I can write it... and it has ceased to be the great hurdle...
So my vote is with Karilea's idea...
a big YES!!!!!!
and a big THANKS
~ loving hugs
