I Try So Hard
I try so hard each time I write
To make this meter come out right
At times it seems so hard for me
Too dumb I do not want to be

It seems to be impossible
To make it sound so sensible
My head it feels like will explode
It is the same old episode

To hear these stresses loud and clear
I will never get is my fear
Sometimes I think I should give up
It seems I always do get stuck

I try so hard to get it right
This meter thing I want to write
Each day I try so hard you see
If only it would come to me

Constantly I will pratice this
I want to get it without miss
I work so hard each day you see
To get it down so perfectly

So close, Sue....so close!!!

Only two deviations...

I will never get is my fear
Constantly I will practice this

i will NE-ver GET IS my fear is not close. If I were to say that line in iambic, I would have to say....

i WILL ne-VERtalk ISmy FEAR

Remember.....daDUM daDUM daDUM daDUM

CON-stant-ly

Remember..if a word begins with an accented syllable, it cannot begin an iambic line since you must have daDUM.

That's it! Those are the only two errors. The rest is pure iambic. GREAT!

We are getting there!!!

You are really getting there, Sue.  I'm beginning to think that meter doesn't get easy.  Just easier and less confusing.

Balladeer, I'm off to study a little more. Maybe, I can get it perfect next time.

Titia, thank you!

Kit, thank you!

Bridgit, I sure hope it gets easier. Cause, this is hard. And, still confusing. I just hope, if I ever do get it perfect, I can keep doing it. LOL!
