You Need To Know My knight in shining armor, that was how I thought of you For you became my world, and you had made me feel so loved Each day together, you and I were doing things as one Then suddenly it was as if I couldn’t do enough I anxiously awaited daily for you to come home But saw you driving right on by and headed up the road Each time you passed on by the house as if I wasn't here I wondered how you always could be heartless and so cold I loved you so much and I wanted just to be with you When you had needs from me, it seemed that’s when I was your wife At any other time, it was as if I were your maid Sometimes I wonder if I ever do a thing that’s right I do recall the fear you had of me not staying there I understand so perfectly just why you had that fear I tried to make things happen as you said you wanted them For you I’ve done this each and every single year It took awhile to realize what you were doing then I try so hard to hang onto the love I have inside The love I once could show to you so freely every day I realized all you wanted was to push it all aside I thought of everything I could, to do to show my love I always did the things you asked of me to do for you I even did the things you really should have done yourself To find out only, that for me, there’s nothing you would do Now there is just one thing I think you really need to know That women aren’t put on this earth to cater just to you You have to give as willingly, as much as you’re to get Just this one thing, it seems to be, you’re not willing to do I finally accepted that you’d never be around I even started filling up my time with something else Instead of sitting here and waiting for you to come home Because one thing I know for sure – I can live by myself By Sue 6-9-02 |
