Whatza Meter With My Matter ?
~*Marge Tindal*~

I have tried and I have cried,
I've caught the tears in splatter
For the very life of me,
can't figure whatza matter

My meter seems to skip a beat
perhaps I'm wearing two left feet
The teacher says I must repeat
that darned da-duming endlessly

I figured that by some small measure
I could pen a da-duming treasure
No matter how I try to stretch it
it slips away, and I can't fetch it

I had this thought, and I said to myself,
"Self, this assignment should stay on the shelf."
So now you'll find me out on the playground
twirling my thoughts on the merry-go-round

Of course if Kit comes looking for me
I'll throw her down and tickle her feet
We'll see if she rhymes so perfectly
as I da-dum her head endlessly

I'll get Nan to pick up my slack
She'll give that Kit a big old whack
One eraser up side the head
MzNanners is the one to dread

I can't seem stay on count
and now I'm tired of trying
Da-dum, da-dum, da-duming
Lordy, I feel I'm dying~

Covered the assignment
Math never was my thing
To the playground I go
come push me on the swing~

Can I come play with you on the merry-go-round, too? I can't seem to get this meter, either.

Loved this Marge, and the title was splendiferous, lol!

PS ... I'll take the eraser upside the head before a stern tickling, lol ...
my feet are WAY too ticklish!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

Oh,SlickieChickie
We must be tricky
Tickling Kit's feet
Will just be so neat

Just can't wait till she
Stops that metering
Let's twirl her dizzy
into a tizzy

Then we will just see
how tickling her feet
Throws her for a loop
Bet her meter DROOPS~

Oohhhhh, hi Kit~
Fancy metering you here~
Thanks for giving in and coming to the playground !
We're just having sooooooooo much fun !
We're going to go to the sandbox ...
Take your shoes off and join us !
*Hugs*

LOL this is cute.

Well being a Dutchie, my meters I know,
but the tricky part will be the flow

Just love it

Marge,

No one says it better than this.

I ain't got no rhythm and I ain't got no  flow.
Feel like I'm being found out by them that's in the know.

Burst out laughing when I read this. I don't get the da-dum dum stuff either no matter how hard I try. Can I be out on the playground with you? I'll push you for awhile so you don't have to pump so hard and then we can switch. Us or is it we, retired folks have to help each other.  ;-)

Dear Marge,
Officer Doc here. I'm afraid you're under arrest! Impersonating a poet. Assault with
a dangling participle, and... you didn't put any $ in the meter! Aside from that, great write. With luck, you'll only get probation.
Doc

And YOU'RE in BIGGER TROUBLE for impersonating an OFFICER !!!
Let's serve our time together~
Ya' think ????

TEACHER !!!
Dr.Moose has been looking at my participles !
I don't think that's allowed !!!
AND it's NOT dangling either !!

Okay, so I'll put another nickle in
in the meterlodeon !!
And I'm stomping out to the playground ...
not gonna DA-DUM anyyyyyyy more !!!

So there, Moosie~

No cutie pie in my email Marge. But it sure is precious and how thoughtful of Kit to make this for you. Yep, eyes are the first to go! And then the body which completely collapsed into a pool of tears when I got home from work today. Pretty pathetic for someone who so desperately wanted out! I think it was the stress of the last many months. Thanks for hanging with me. I'll be under the covers all day tomorrow trying to recoup and regroup.  Hugs, Marti

Margie-
I see you're still spending most of your time
on the playground, and now you're hogging the
meter-go-round.  First you push it in one
direction and then another...you're making me dizzy!
Of course...I wouldn't have it any other way.
The playground is always more fun when you're there.
This was too cute...and so you.
Hugs,
~Vicky

Margie-
I already did my assignment.
I'm such a good student that I finished
ALL my homework before I went out to play.
So there!  Nanninannibooboo!

Marge - hehe
What's the meter with your matter?
More than one upon your platter
Does the meter really matter?
Without rhythm, rhymes are flatter
Rhythm sounds like pitter patter
When the raindrops spit and splatter
Giving verse a little pick-up
Lack of meter makes you hiccup
As for you, sweet girl of grace
I rather love shine on your face
And keep on writing as you write
For it is full of sheer delight
Your words ooze out like beaten batter
Does the meter really matter?
(Only to meter freaks like me)
I loved this poem!
Metered hugs, Liz

Whatzat?
Margie's Meter Matters?
What could make'er Madder?
Than to give'er Meter?

She thinks she tricks me?
All the better
She's out on the Meter-go-Round!
Little does she know
That she's
Got S'Mattered by the Meter
Going round and round
In Metered throes...

Even swings go back and forth
In time to metronomes
Back and forth
And forth and back
No Matter
So she'll be Metered
That's a fact...
