I wanted to write a poem for thee
a funny thing that happened to me
but just can't name the object involved
sitting here, my problem unsolved

I'm roaming brain, I'm roaming mind
The object's name I just can't find
I mean I need it in Dutch you see
before exploring the dictionary

I'm getting old I think I am
Can't think of objects name here, damn
I walked downstairs and picked it up
I'm staring at this look-a-like cup

My mind is blank, my muse is too
Geez, need it's name, I really do
How will I be able to tell you a story
When I can't think of the object's name...

Potverdorie (Dutch curse!)

ROFL! And all the time you were looking for "funnel"! Hehe, do I recognize that situation!

Yea Mom I know, but that didn't help this time.

Munda, I was looking for the word 'trechter', it just wouldn't pop up in my mind and because I couldn't come up with the Dutch word, I hardly could check my dictionary for the English one, now could I LOL

Very good. Reminds me of when they always told us to look a word up in the dictionary to learn how to spell it. I always wondered how I was supposed to look it up if I didn't already know the spelling. Was I supposed to read the whole thing?

Thanks,
Pete

Titia,
Very cute, and well crafted.(I just hate it when I can't think of the right word!)
