Listening to every heart

First, I want to thank you ALL for coming to my aid with my local writing group.  We are in the midst of working up a name, and I won't spill the beans just yet, but I think you'll all be tickled pink when we do pounce on just the right name to call ourselves...

Secondly:  My e-mail at work went down last Wednesday and we have had virtually NO contact with the outside world.  SO, if you answered my "Haiku me" request by e-mail and I did not respond to you, it is simply because we have been disconnected.  I did receive an e-mail from Krawdad [thank you Krawdad!] Munda [thank you Munda!] and Nan [ok, ok, I owe you food!]

Munda, simply because you sent me some beautiful Senryu, I reformatted my agenda to do both Haiku AND Senryu.  Your offerings made one of the members just sparkle as you really hit the center of her.  They were beautiful!

Krawdad, of the five you sent, we had some great discussion over them, because they really portrayed the depth of true Haiku and Senryu.  Those who were not ready to THINK had to struggle to grasp them, but I knew where you were coming from.  Consequently, we learned quite alot, not only about the writing format, but about each other as well.

Nan, what can I say?  Your offerings elicited the "oohs and ahhs" you receive here!  So when is the book going to be published?  I read several of yours, and it was like having dessert...a pleasing and satisfying experience...

THEN....

from the Class posting of Word Prisoners, I took back the very thoughtful and caring reviews from our fellow poets to the author.  She was thrilled to receive them.  She certainly appreciated the insight.  When I explained to her that two of you were from the other side of the world, she was amazed that culturally, we do indeed all seem to "sense alike" the gravity of another's situation.

I did not have an opportunity to get into Passions before going to the meeting, and did not get to offer what was left here on the request for Haiku, but I do sincerely appreciate the time you folks took to put your thoughts down.  Like I said, my sporadic ability to get to a working computer this last week has left much to be desired.

I may have left out something, so forgive me, but my time is once again short.  Again, thank you all for your time and sharing.  I am sure that Passions will benefit from new members from this part of the world as the group gets underway...I know the group will be better for your offerings as we continue to work on our passion of writing...

You are all just Awesome...warm hugs, Karilea

You're more than welcome Sunshine! I'm glad I could be of any help. What's the chance of you moving to Europe? I'd love to participate in a workshop like yours. Btw, does this mean I get Brownies now?

Hi Sunshine, mine got stuck in your computer then, but as they were written to pics mostly, I don't know if you could have used them anyway. Looking forward to their efforts.

Hey Munda, you know it's PoetryDay soon? I think this thursday (tomorrow) or next, don't know exactly.

Titia

Titia, the nice thing about classes, as you know, there is always a "review" time, and that would be the ideal time to share yours! At this time, we've set it up so that I will facilitate a class every other week.  I've been known to bring up the "good stuff" for a second serving...I'm sorry I did not get your e-mail in time; our server is just today starting to filter through the hundreds of e-mails that need to come into our offices...[I say hundreds - with 20 people, I'll bet it's more, over a six day period...]

Karilea ... I just wanted to say that I've been following you all along (quietly in the background) and I think this class concept is wonderful. You're fantastic, and everyone here, helping throughout, has been terrific!

Best wishes,
/Kit
