SERPENTINE VERSES
Verses ending with the same word with which they begin.

Does that mean in every line or what????

ANYBODY there to help me out????

Oh goody - I can make an apple pie now - In my spare time, of course...

Serpentine Verse isn't in my poetry encyclopedia - Anybody have a resource book that might give us an answer???

Well, I got it from this site below, but it only referred to acrostics and another difficult word. Got you all worked up now don't I
http://myweb.wwa.com/~rgs/gl-a.html

If nobody knows I'll have to make my own then

And as you were all late in class, I ate all the apples by myself

Here it is according to Bob's Byway, which I have found to be a pretty good glossary. Check it out at:

     http://web.wwa.com/~rgs/glossary.html

quote:

Serpentine Verse
Verses ending with the same word with which they begin.

Verse
A line of writing arranged in a metrical pattern, i.e., a line of poetry. Also, a piece of poetry or a particular form of poetry such as free verse, blank verse, etc., or the art or work of a poet.

Sidelight: The popular use of the word verse for a stanza
or associated group of metrical lines is not in
accordance with the best usage. A stanza is a
              group of verses.

So it would seem that the answer to your question is, each line should end with the same word it begins with. Hope this helps.
Pete

Hi Pete, yes I thought so, looking at the same site you're referring to, but didn't see the rest.

So this will be my asignment: Serpentine Verse (logic: serpentine = snake and biting his own tail it ends where it begins)

Oh WOW clever Dutchie me

Wanna have these apples Pete, thanks
