The large hand moves fast , the small hand moves slow , I know ,
I'll not be the first , neither the last , to go
wondering aloud , what makes us tick
the face of mocking clock , hands so slick
gone quicker now , each passing day
would that could cause them delay.
                    Scant chances they leave ,
                          without reprieve
                           'til one must
                              believe
                               time
                              passes
                             by faster ,
                       so fall these words .
                      By plan taking shape ,
content both seen and heard .
Falling in place , one by one ,
increasing in pace , 'til is done .
When pen falls away from tiring grip ,
as fades from all memory words that slipped ,
into this arrangement as sand just to show ,
how time flies starts out slow , then speeds by
as we go

This is wonderful!
Very effctive
(This reminds me of one of the towers at our local nuclear power plant - perhaps that would be a subject to pursue)
Anyway, you make it look very easy,
Good work

Elizabeth ,
Thanks . I hadn't noticed the hourglass / cooling tower connection before . We've got one of those here also . Hmmm , I wonder what the half-life of poetry is ?
Doc

Titia ,
Thank you . I deny almost everything , it's usally safer that way .
Doc

Unfortunately , once again , I misunderstood the assignment . I don't know what this is , but it's not a rophalic whatcha-ma-callit .

Looks to me like one in reverse - Doc always has to take an assignment and amend it... and it always takes an interesting twist... yep - it does...
