We've all met this Irish Rose
writing words in rhyme not proze
Redhaired gal from this Island far
next year she'll go there but not by car

There's Marge Tindal a poet dear
we certainly can't miss her here
she writes words of warm support
to many members of this board

And what about Catalinamoon
who wants to meet us very soon
Will she really reach her nice goal
for us to meet in flesh not only soul

I saw Dr. Moose1 in this workshopforum
he brings his poetry with much decorum
A firm giggle here and some LOL's there
don't be mistaken his intention is to care

With Munda I feel a special band
because she's from my own homeland
I don't see her often wich I regret
I liked her ballade I'll tell you that

Last but not least there's Nancy cute
who has led us into clerihew dispute
A great teacher of this class she is
And for letting me in she'll get a kiss

A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess...

Thanks Cindy for your kind reply.
Keep trying, they're not too difficult.
Just think of someone you know, for instance your mother or father or a friend and think about what's typical about them and then try to put that in a short verse rhyming a a b b.
You'll get the hang of it, I'm sure.

Have you all heard of Titia Geertman?
She hails from lovely Netherlands
I hear she's always counting sheep
Even when she's not asleep

Look at Nan of MissGypsiNess fame
Cleri-verly using the name
Of Titia Geertman in her rhyme
I swear she gets smarter every time

Sweet Titia Geertman learning new
Things so Cleri-ver she can do
What a student of poetic design
Can do with just a little rhyme

Cindi Palmer trying her hand
At this form that is so grand
Bet before the day is through
She will have written her Clerihew

Munda says that Titia's Dutch
For this reason she has much
Finesse and charismatic charm
and brains that don't do any harm

Then Munda wrote some funny words
Some jibberish I have never heard
Am I a little out of touch?
Or do you people still speak Dutch?

You did it Titia, great verses!

Be dunked, merci!

Thanks Munda for your kind reply
will keep them wondering and sigh
What on earth does the last line mean
wrote in a language they've never seen

Elizabeth my sweety dear
Dutch we do speak overhere
No longer will I keep you in the blue
'Thanks gal' she wrote and that's the clue
