May - Double Trouble or Double Dutch? Ok guys, I'm tak'n over. I've tied Nan up in the Teacher's Lounge.  Here's what I had in mind: Write two poems in iambic meter (tetrameter, pentameter, hexameter...), but... hehe you knew there'd be a but... when you put these two poems next to each other, they all of a sudden turn into one poem! Just remember to format the two poems in your post so that they appear side-by-side, so that they can be read as "one." Confused? Here's an example poem I wrote long before I even knew meter existed and is only meant to give you an idea. Double Love A son and daughter are all mine A little lass and little lad A sprightly girl, really divine Naughty at times, but never bad My handsome boy, a vagabond The cutest two you've ever seen A true brother and sister bond No-one ever comes in between Although they fight and shed a tear I love them dearly from the heart For their tie I will never fear Nothing can break this love apart There a smile! Reunited love A hug so tight and then a kiss Their way home they'll find like a dove And their love I need never miss Ok, not the best I ever wrote, but hey? I'm still learning too! I'll leave it up to you what rhyme scheme to use and I'll try not to turn in my homework on the very last day.  Let's have some fun and oh... and no spit balls please! |
